RMA Request

To ensure that an Advance Exchange unit is sent immediately or that Credit is applied to your account, you will need to provide us with some basic information.

Ideally, you will be able to provide us with the Serial Number of the product. If this is not available then either your Purchase Order Number or our Invoice Number are necessary along with a description of the product being returned.

Once this information is obtained, please print then complete the
Return to Manufacture Authorization form
and FAX to (978) 392-1216. Upon form receipt we will forward you an Advance Exchange unit which has been ECO'ed to the latest revision, or Credit your account.

(Note to Direct Distributors: A separate online RMA process is in effect for Direct Distributors. Please login to your account.)

Packaging Guidelines

Data Recovery
Intelligent Peripheral does not perform any data recovery services. Intelligent Peripheral will provide an Advance Exchange unit for any drive you need to retain for data recovery purposes. If you need to recover data on your disk drive, you may find the following Internet location useful.

Packaging Guidelines
Please review each of the following guidelines to ensure your return is properly handled and processed. Thank You.

Enclose each drive in an ESD bag, and seal.  If available, use a wrist ground strap at all times and handle the drive carefully.  Treat every drive as you would a "good" drive.

Drives must be returned in Intelligent Peripheral approved packaging.  If possible return the drive in the original packaging, or if an Advance Exchange was requested, use the same packaging that your Advance Exchange unit arrived with.

Returning a single drive
  • Enclose the drive in an anti-static ESD bag.
  • The only bags which are acceptable for packing drives are ESD shielding bags constructed with a conductive layer.  These bags usually have a silvery appearance.
  • Place the ESD bag with the enclosed drive in a cardboard box with thick foam rubber surrounding the drive.

Enclose any test results printouts if available.
Many customers return drives as defective when, in fact, the drives are tested and classified as "No Problem Found".  Any failure or troubleshooting information you can share with us, while not mandatory, would be beneficial to avoid future occurrences.

Packaging that is not acceptable:

Do not use Styrofoam peanuts, paper, padded shipping envelopes or non-approved plastic or Styrofoam clamshell containers.

PLEASE NOTE: Disk drives returned in any type of shipping envelope (paper or padded) may void your warranty.

Clearly write all shipping information and the RMA number on each box for faster processing. Clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of each box, and on any shipping invoices enclosed.

Important!

  • Any shipment received without a Return Material Authorization (RMA) will delay or void credit to your account.
  • Failure to comply with the above packaging requirements may cause your warranty to be voided.

If you have any questions, please contact your local representative or our technical support center. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have created for you and want to learn how we can make it right.
